    Course Objectives 

    Students will practice and improve: 

    1.      Listening comprehension for social and academic purposes

    2.      Reading comprehension for personal and academic purposes

    3.      Speaking for social and academic purposes

    4.      Writing for personal and academic purposes (sentences, paragraphs, & essays)

    5.      Vocabulary

    6.      Grammar

    7.      Critical thinking and analysis skills

     

    Student Expectations

    ·        Come to class on time and prepared with books, pen or pencil, notebooks, and homework.

    ·        Participate in class activities and complete homework assignments on time.

    ·        Write your name and the date on all homework and handouts.

    ·        Keep your notebook, homework, and other materials organized.

    ·        Ask questions when you don’t understand.

    ·        Study English a minimum of 20 minutes every day outside of class, even if we don’t have an assignment.

    ·        Class Participation - 25%

    Quizzes and Tests -  25%
