• What can students do to improve classroom success?

     Students need to start the marking period off on a positive note by completing daily classroom assignments. It is important to take good notes, attend study or review sessions, and study material in order to pass quizzes and tests.  It is very important for students to use their planners for all classes.  Staying organized is also important in order to maintain good grades.

  • What should a student do if he or she is absent from school?

    Students are responsible for all missed work. It is important to meet with their teachers and find out what work was missed for each class.  Students need to meet with their teachers in order to find out what work was missed.  School attendance is extremely important as assignments will continue to be given each day and skills will build from the previous day's work.

  • Will there be homework in my classes?

    Yes, there will be homework and it is important for students to avoid waiting until the last minute to complete their work.  There may be homework on weekends too and students will be expected to have this work completed when they return to school.

  • How can my student stay organized in middle school?

    Students need to determine what binder they will use for each class and continue to place papers daily in the appropriate binder.  It also helps when students color code their binders. 
     
    For example: ELA Binder=Red with a red folder, Math=Blue Binder with a blue folder. 
     
    Students will be using their binders and folders on a daily basis in their regular education classrooms and organization will be key for student success in the Middle School!

  • What is the purpose of Resource Room?

    Students will be provided with Resource Room assistance as determined by their IEP and CSE decisions.  Students will be practicing reading and writing skills to further develop grade appropriate skills that will assist them with academic success.  They will be using a variety of sources to work on their individualized goals to improve ELA skills.  Students will not be working on homework during their scheduled resource room time.

  • What can students do when they are stressed about school?

    Take a deep breath, and talk to your teachers. Resource Room Teachers are excellent resources to assist you with assignments and studying for tests. Guidance counselors can also help with sorting and prioritizing assignments. Communication with your teachers is very important in Middle School.
