Hello everyone! My name is Kayla Herring and I am the 12:1:1 Special Education Teacher at Glenfield Elementary. I am a South Lewis Alumni myself and graduated in 2006. I received my Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Oswego in Elementary Education in 2010 and my Master's Degree, also from SUNY Oswego, in Elementary Special Education in 2013. In the summer of 2015, I was hired here at South Lewis for an opening in the Elementary 12:1:1 classroom. After being hired, I took additional classes and extended my Special Ed degree to include birth through 2nd grade. Over the past few years, I have learned a lot, adjusted well, and have truly enjoyed my time here. The group of students that I work with everyday brighten my spirits and influence me into coming into work everyday with ease and a smile on my face. I've always heard that "you won't have to work a day in your life if you love what you do" and man is that true! I am greatly enjoying my journey with South Lewis Central School District and truly love what I do. I have a great group of students that are ready and excited to learn and are preparing for another great school year!
