The purpose of homework is to reinforce skills that we are working on in class, keep parents informed about what we are learning and to teach responsibility. It is not intended to be stressful or to take more than 30 minutes each night.

Each child is responsible for writing down their homework in their planner daily. If homework is not turned in on the day it is due they will be required complete the work during recess.

There will typically be homework 3-4 nights a week. You can expect your child to have either a reading comprehension or a weekly reading log plus math homework. They will also have a weekly spelling word list to study. When students have a reading comprehension they will have 2-3 nights to complete and hand in. Reading logs are expected to be completed nightly. Reading and practicing multiplication facts are extremely important to your child's success in 3rd grade and beyond! I appreciate your support at home with these skills.
